Way back in February 2003, we found an inexpensive tried racehorse for clients Geoff and Heather Nicholls of Perth to have a bit of fun with.
The then winner of a Scone maiden, Daka's Gem went on to earn his new owners over $700,000 and a number of trophies, including the Gr.2 CB Cox Stakes and the Listed Australia and Ballarat Cups. We received a text from Geoff the other day which expressed the real spirit of racehorse ownership:
"Our friend and champion DAKA has retired today - a sound and wonderfully content superstar who brought us all so many thrills and tears of joy. We love him to bits, as much as he loved to swoop home time and time again, defying the odds and his age. Our Daka will always be a Gem!

Daka's Gem Retires 3 Runs Short of a Century
