Yield Curve Scores His 16th Win

Way back in 2002, we analysed a Flying Spur mare named Peek for client Trevor Wells.  The top rated mating was with Coolmore's Storm Cat stallion High Yield with a 9/10 rating (previously known as a AA/A rating).
Trevor took our advice, and YIELD CURVE, who won the Provincial Cup on the weekend and the Listed Toowoomba Cup just two months ago, is the result. A mating with Flying Spur mares creates a great pattern with High Yield, whose dam is bred on a Mr. Prospector / Northern Dancer cross.  Flying Spur is bred on a Northern Dancer / Mr. Prospector cross, creating a dynamic reverse pattern.  In addition, the full brothers Graustark and His Majesty are brought in between those two influences.
While High Yield in general was not a great success in Australia, he produced six Aussie bred stakes winners and two of those have been from Flying Spur mares. The other is Singapore Gr.2 winner, THE HORNET.
Under the guidance of one-horse hobby trainer Kath Carroll, 18th September's Doomben win was Yield Curve's 16th victory. He's now earned $430,250. Wouldn't we all like a racehorse in the stable who, at the age of 7 years, is still winning and earning good prizemoney? (photo:  thechronicle.com.au)
